President's Message

Sri Lankan urological surgeons are excited to welcome you all to the 25th anniversary annual academic sessions to be staged on 13th and 15th November 2024 in Colombo. Having had modest beginnings in 1999 with a handful but determined urologists the association is coming of age with a wider presence and larger outreach.

The congress will be the culminating event of a year full of academic and social activities to commemorate the landmark event. Top representatives from regional gatherings SAUS and UAA and executives of international urology associations have already confirmed participation

An extensive and interesting programme covering all the major branches of the specialty concentrating on urology needs of South Asia will be taken up for deliberations by urology giants and future leaders.

As your host, SLAUS has arranged fabulous social events for essential networking and to make the short experience to be full of fond memories to last a lifetime.

Welcome to Sri Lanka!

Sri Lanka - So much in so little

Set in the Indian Ocean in South Asia, the tropical island nation of Sri Lanka has a history dating back to the birth of time. It is a place where the original soul of Buddhism still flourishes and where nature's beauty remains abundant and unspoilt.

Few places in the world can offer the traveller such a remarkable combination of stunning landscapes, pristine beaches, captivating cultural heritage and unique experiences within such a compact location. Within a mere area of 65,610 kilometres lie 8 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, 1,330 kilometres of coastline - much of it is pristine beach - 15 national parks showcasing an abundance of wildlife, nearly 500,000 acres of lush tea estates, 250 acres of botanical gardens, 350 waterfalls, 25,000 water bodies, to a culture that extends back to over 2,500 years.

This is an island of magical proportions, once known as Serendib, Taprobana, the Pearl of the Indian Ocean, and Ceylon.

Discover refreshingly Sri Lanka!
